Overview

Most consumer and many industrial devices feature embedded antennas, rather than external antennas. Antenna design and placement can come with significant link integrity considerations — radiation quality can be directly impacted by neighboring electronic components, metallic enclosure, battery, etc.

Antenna radiation pattern, gain (co-pol & x-pol), radiation efficiency and return loss are parameters preliminarily evaluated in the first steps of development and optimization of a wireless connection.

In this webinar, using Ansys HFSS and Ansys Circuit, we will learn how to simulate, predict and take into consideration the influence of the close environment in antenna design. Different examples of antennas will be shown — from low frequencies to mmWave applications.
